About Expedition

The Khosar Gang Expedition is an ideal 6000m peak climb, offering a challenging yet achievable mountaineering experience in the Karakoram Range. Towering at 6,046m (19,837 ft), Khosar Gang is a lesser-known gem, providing climbers with stunning views of Skardu, Indus Valley, and the snow-capped peaks of the Karakoram. This 15-day adventure blends high-altitude trekking, technical climbing, and cultural immersion through Skardu and Sildi Valley, making it perfect for those looking to push their limits while experiencing Pakistan’s remote mountain beauty.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Islamabad International Airport

Altitude: 590 m 

Details: 

Welcome to Islamabad! Our team from Summit Experts Pakistan will be at the airport to greet  you, holding a name tag card for easy identification. Once you meet up with us, we will transfer  you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have some spare time to visit a  nearby money exchange. Our billing department will also stop by to collect the remaining  payment. After dinner, it is off to bed, as we will be flying to Skardu the next day!

Day 02: Fly to Skardu, Karakoram

Altitude: 2,498 m 

Details: 

Today, we will take a scenic flight to Skardu International Airport. Once you arrive, settle into  your hotel and breathe in the fresh mountain air! Our guide will check your equipment, and after  lunch, you will have some free time to explore, acclimatize, or pick up a local SIM card for  communication.

Day 03: Spend Free Day in Skardu

Altitude: 2,598 m 

Details: 

Enjoy a leisurely day in Skardu! We will arrange a sightseeing tour, and if you need to purchase  any gear, we can visit the local market together.

Day 04: Drive to Sildi and Hike to Base Camp

Altitude: 3,800 m 

Details: 

Today marks the beginning of our adventure! We will embark on a 6-hour drive to Sildi Valley,  followed by a hike to establish our base camp. Get ready for a bumpy ride!

Day 05: Rest and Acclimatization Day at Base Camp

Altitude: 3,800 m 

Details: 

Take this day to relax and acclimatize at base camp. It’s a great opportunity to connect with  nature and prepare for the challenges ahead.

Day 06: Climb to Camp 1 for Overnight

Altitude: 4,800 m 

Details: 

Today we ascend to Camp 1, which will be a challenging climb taking approximately 6-8 hours,  depending on your physical fitness. It’s an important step in our journey!

Day 07: Climb to Camp 2 for Overnight

Altitude: 5,200 m 

Details: 

We will continue our ascent today, making our way to Camp 2. This climb is expected to take  about 5-6 hours and will require a mix of determination and stamina.

Day 08-10: Climbing Days for Summit Push

Altitude: 6,046 m 

Details: 

These days are dedicated to our summit push, contingent on favorable weather conditions. We  will rest at Camp 2 and keep our fingers crossed for a good weather window. With our  experienced guides, the success rate for this peak is nearly 90%, so stay optimistic!

Day 11: Return from Camp 2 to Base Camp

Altitude: 3,800 m 

Details: 

After our climbing days, we will descend back to base camp for a well-deserved overnight stay.  If you are interested in heading back to Skardu, please coordinate with your guide to arrange  transportation, as we will stick to the itinerary.

Day 12: Return to Skardu from Base Camp via Sildi

Altitude: 2,498 m 

Details: 

We will drive back to Skardu today, where you can relax at the hotel and reflect on your journey.

Day 13: Fly to Islamabad

Altitude: 590 m 

Details:Today, we will fly back to Islamabad. Enjoy your time at the hotel and take a moment to unwind  after your adventure.

Day 14: Contingency Day for Flight Cancellations

Details: 

If our flight is canceled, we will use this day for a scenic drive from Naran/Besham to Islamabad.  If you’re already in Islamabad, we’ll explore the city together.

Day 15: Fly to Home Country

Details: 

Most flights depart at midnight, so after some sightseeing, we will bid you a heartfelt farewell.  Our driver and guide will ensure you arrive at the airport three hours before your departure.
